Elexon
At Elexon, we believe inclusion is not a policy; it is a promise. A promise that every voice is heard, every story respected, and every barrier dismantled.
Over the past year we have accelerated this promise into action: reshaping recruitment with innovative practices, developing diverse leaders, and creating safe spaces for conversations society too often avoids. Guided by our strapline: "Elexon Together, embracing differences, listening to all voices", we are redefining what belonging looks like in our industry. Our journey is purposeful, measurable, and most importantly, human.
Kier Group
Kier has taken significant steps over the past 12 months to create a workplace where everyone belongs and can succeed. Through our Expect Respect campaign, a refreshed set of family-friendly policies, pioneering programmes like Rise and Making Ground, and the expansion of seven employee networks, we are directly addressing barriers. We now provide enhanced support for carers, fertility, pregnancy loss, and menopause, alongside our Respect Basics and zero tolerance for discrimination.
This effort is underpinned by measurable progress on gender and ethnicity representation and engagement. Together, it fosters a culture where people can thrive, regardless of who they are.
NESO
In just 12 months, NESO has built its first strategic approach to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB), transforming from zero infrastructure to a culture where inclusion is embedded by design.
Through initiatives like the Safe to Share scheme, 10 Employee Resource Groups, and tailored training aligned to the Public Sector Equality Duty, NESO has delivered measurable impact. With high levels of personal data declaration and a completion and a 78% Belonging score, NESO is shaping inclusive pathways internally and across the energy sector setting a new standard for intentional, data-driven inclusion
Vattenfall
Vattenfall is leading the transition to a fossil-free future while building a workforce that reflects society's diversity. Over the past year, we have deepened our commitment with diversity and inclusion in the workplace by establishing a dedicated DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) Office to lead our strategy and implement more targeted programs. We are creating an environment where every person can thrive and contribute to a sustainable future.
Wales & West Utilities
At Wales & West Utilities, we want everyone to feel safe and included at work. Over the past year, we have introduced a programme of meaningful changes to make our culture more inclusive, with particular focus on promoting gender balance. Amongst those changes has been introducing our Menopause and Peri Menopause Policy, an offer of paid time off for colleagues undergoing fertility treatment (and now including partners), plus improving our recruitment process to remove barriers and encourage more gender balance in the sector.
