British Gas

Project Florida is transforming the landscape of sustainable energy for new housing developments. As part of a ground breaking collaboration between British Gas, Strata Homes, and Daikin, the project integrates heat pumps, solar panels, and unified smart controls to meet Future Homes Standards.

Through an innovative trial in Kiverton, Project Florida demonstrates how seamless energy management, customer engagement, and data-driven insights drive comfort and affordability for homeowners. The project’s success is sparking wider industry adoption and positions it as a model for net zero engagement. Project Florida stands at the forefront of enabling decarbonisation in residential developments.

Good Energy and Granular Energy

Good Energy is the first energy supplier in the world to launch hourly matching for all business customers. Going beyond the standard, opaque ‘100% renewable’ offers to establish a better, more credible and transparent way to buy renewable electricity that creates a whole new incentive for demand flexibility and energy storage.

Many other energy suppliers in the UK and around the world are now offering hourly matching offers, in part due to Good Energy’s leadership.

Granular Energy is a tech company that provides the software necessary for matching clean energy with consumers with high levels of granularity at scale.+

Northern Powergrid & E.ON Next

Northern Powergrid and E.ON Next have teamed up to launch Empower Flex - a pioneering pilot helping households in Crowle and Starbeck cut electricity bills by up to 15%, while supporting the UK’s net zero journey. The initiative targets areas with high fuel poverty, offering free domestic batteries, home insulation where eligible, and tailored support to reduce energy use and peak demand.

It removes barriers to low-carbon tech, boosts awareness of flexibility, and delivers real impact. This first-of-its-kind partnership between a network operator and supplier sets a new standard for inclusive, scalable, customer-led decarbonisation.

Oxfordshire County Council and SMS

The Energy Saver App project successfully trialled an energy insights app in collaboration with a local authority along with a new model to encourage take-up of solar and battery by removing upfront costs and building trust - key barriers to be overcome to enable widespread decarbonisation.

Energy reductions for app users were achieved via user education utilising smart meter data, as well as enabling more than 300 Oxfordshire residents to benefit from solar PV and AI optimised batteries through a low cost monthly optimisation service. The project engaged 134,000 Oxfordshire residents between 2024-25, with 10,000 app downloads.

SSEN Transmission

Our Pathway to 2030 work represents one of the most ambitious electricity infrastructure build-outs the UK has ever seen. It is vital to achieving energy security and clean power targets.

Our projects will connect vast volumes of new renewable generation, enabling clean power to flow from source to homes and businesses. We have led Scotland’s biggest public engagement programmes, hosting over 150 consultation events, attended by over 12,000 people.

We’ve listened and responded to community feedback. we are removing barriers to decarbonisation, building trust and ensuring the energy transition is delivered fairly and sustainably.

UK Power Networks

UK Power Networks’ DSO is transforming the UK’s electricity network through data-led innovation, customer engagement and system-wide collaboration.

Alongside flagship initiatives such as ChargePoint Navigator, the DSO has delivered world-first services including Day-Ahead Flexibility Markets and coordinated management of network constraints with NESO. Together, these innovations have empowered local authorities, enabled faster clean energy connections, supported system balancing and unlocked over £199 million in benefits in 2023/24 alone. By embedding inclusivity, transparency and flexibility into grid operations, this DSO is redefining the role of a utility in the net-zero transition.

Utilita Energy

Utilita’s Power Price List is the UK’s first live, comprehensive database showing the real costs and carbon emissions of 76 common household appliances. Designed to address the fact that 70% of households admit they don’t know appliance running costs, the campaign empowers customers to save money, reduce waste, and cut emissions.

Since its launch in late 2023, it has generated 196 articles across print and online media, reaching millions of households, after becoming a trusted resource for journalists and consumers alike. Updated quarterly, it is now a cornerstone of Utilita’s strategy to help households engage with net zero.
